Massage Session PSA

During intake before a massage begins, I give a lot of quick information about what to expect. To make things easier, I have compiled a list of FAQs and beyond to give guidance in the event of potential anxiety and also to help you understand your options!

How much clothing should be removed?

  • As much (or as little) as you are comfortable with! Private parts are always draped modestly. You are always in control!

  • If you want to leave your socks on to keep your feet warmer until your foot massage, I can help you remove them easily when the time comes. I can also put them back on for you, if you prefer.

  • Start the session under the blanket and top sheet so you are covered from feet to neck.

  • When possible, tie long hair into a loose top knot and take it out when you flip onto your back. I can also help with this! Forgot your hair tie? No worries. We can work with it; no problem.

What should I do with my jewelry?

  • I have a dish for your jewelry and watches. I’ll make sure to bring them out to you if you forget them! Need help with your fiddly necklace? I am happy to unfasten (and refasten) the clasp.

Feeling self-conscious about tummy grumbles?

  • Digestive noises are normal, common and welcome! It means you’re relaxed.

  • Need to run to the bathroom during a session? We have robes and slippers ready in the room!

Did you know we have several kinds of bolsters?

  • Breast bolsters give lift to help relieve feeling squished while face-down. Also great for nursing moms!

  • A small foam wedge can go under hips while face-down to release the lower back.

  • A small rolled towel under the forehead can help protect lash extensions.

  • We have plenty of pillows to accommodate side-lying massage.

Are you comfortable?

  • I always want to know if you need a change in pressure, temperature or music volume. It is your session and you deserve to enjoy it as much as possible! Don’t be afraid to be fussy!

  • The face cradle moves in many directions. If your neck feels too tilted, we can fix that!

  • Stuffy nose after laying face down a while? This is extremely common! I have a box of tissues handy and we can always get you turned over sooner than planned.

  • Hot flash? I can always uncover your feet, back and arms to cool you down quickly.

  • Don’t love massage music? BYO playlist! Our bluetooth speakers can sync to your device easily.

  • My table has the ability to incline! If you would rather not lay flat on your back, let me know!

Should we talk or should we stay silent?

  • If getting to know each other a bit makes you more comfortable, I’m happy to do so! But if you’re hoping to stay silent and zone out, great! I’ll let you take the lead on this. My goal is to help you have the best massage experience possible.

Should I shave before my massage?

  • Shaving your legs is of no consequence to me whatsoever. If you feel your best with smooth skin, then go for it! If not, I am completely unfazed by body hair.

  • If you are coming in specifically for TMJ intraoral massage, a clean-shaven face is helpful, but not absolutely necessary.

When is it safe to get a massage during pregnancy? *prenatal photo

  • As long as you are experiencing a low-risk pregnancy, then any convenient time from conception until birth is a great time to get a massage! Anytime after giving birth is also a great way to help with recovery.

  • If you are experiencing a high-risk pregnancy, all we need is an okay from your doctor or midwife!

Avoiding foot massage because it’s time for a pedicure or you might have foot odor?

  • I have hand sanitizer and hot towels to cleanse your feet! No need to avoid getting your feet massaged.

  • I am very happy to massage feet that have calluses or chipped nail polish. It would be a shame to skip the feet, as they do so much for us!

What options are included in the price and available to add to my session?

  • Hydrotherapy (hot packs and hot towels).

  • CBD can be added to your lotion.

  • Essential oil blends can be added to your lotion for aromatherapy and skin benefits.

  • Gratuity! We are a gratuity-free spa. If you loved your session, a Google or Yelp review of your experience means the world to me!
