This is a 6-week semi-structured Art Therapy group intended to provide opportunities for attendees to explore the art making process, engage with their peers, develop insight, and process emotions.

When: Every Thursday, June 15-July 20th, 10-12pm

Who: Elementary school aged kiddos, ages 6-11

Cost: $150 for all 6 classes/full series

• Clients that make it in at the start time will be able to check-in and be able to work on the prompt in tandem. 

• As an art therapy group there will be some sort of prompt at the start to promote self-exploration, developing emotional vocabulary, practicing self soothing or even rapport building. 

• Therapist will encourage discussion about the artwork between participants in order to promote psychosocial support between peers and encourage insight. 

• The kiddos will not be expected to stay on the prompt or topic for the duration of the session and will be allowed to explore art activities and discussion topics as they wish. 

• If folks don’t make it to the group at the start time that’s perfectly fine, they can choose to join in a structured art prompt or spend their time doing their own thing. The therapist will make efforts to encourage these kiddos to join in group discussion/participation however it is okay to come to the group and do your own thing.

• Most of the time the kiddos will get done with the art making activity fairly quickly if they choose to do it, which means there will likely be a significant amount of time for them to work freely on whichever projects they choose.
