What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that helps people heal from the effects of overwhelming life experiences. It is a brain and body-based intervention that helps you process trauma.

What does EMDR help with?

  • Recent Traumatic Events (within days or months to avoid experiencing PTSD)

Your therapist can provide a "Superbill" for insurance reimbursement for up to 1 hr per day of your Intensive. Insurance will not reimburse for half or full days of therapy.

Diana Wasser, LCPC

Diana Wasser, LCPC is a seasoned mental health therapist and our clinical supervisor at Vancouver Wellness Studio. She is a trauma-trained therapist with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals struggling with the effects of traumatic events and other life stressors. Diana specializes in both PTSD and Complex PTSD, with special interests in grief, mood challenges, postpartum, caregiving stress, high demand group concerns, and later-in-life diagnoses of ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

EMDR is a core part of Diana’s practice and is offered in a collaborative and choice-driven way. You control the pace and depth of the work, with an emphasis on building your own capacity to self- regulate and increase your sense of safety and resilience. Diana also utilizes Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and  Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for skill building and self-awareness.

Diana creates an environment that is affirming and safe, where you can feel heard, understood, and respected. Through gentle observation, she helps you have a better understanding of the potential cause of an issue, the effects on relationship patterns, communication difficulties, and decreased functioning at work or at home, and ultimately, what to do about it so you can live the life you want!
